Vuthela presents the iLembe ICT Project, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)

The iLembe ICT project is looking to advance 50 young people who live in the Mandini and KwaDukuza Municipalities of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, on their journey to success in IT careers.

The project is a joint collaboration between IT varsity, Vuthela, the Swiss Government, the Moses Kotane Institute, the municipalities of iLembe, KwaDukuza and Mandeni, and Enterprise iLembe.

If you meet the necessary criteria, you can apply for the unique opportunity to become a recipient of an opportunity to attend a funded one year Apptrepreneur course at IT varsity.

You will be eligible to apply for this opportunity if:

  • You are a South African citizen
  • You are between 18 and 35 years old
  • You have completed matric
  • You are unemployed
  • You live in Mandini or KwaDukuza
  • You are hardworking and determined to succeed
  • You are able to commit to at least 16 hours to studying per week

  • When you submit the form, you will receive an email from us. Please check your email, including your spam/junk folders.
  • In the email there will be a link to an Aptitude Test and a link to sign up for Module 0.
  • You will need to complete the Aptitude Test and Module 0. If you do not have a computer and a wifi connection, you can complete these at the Mandini training centres.
  • A team of professionals will evaluate all submitted projects and the top best 50 projects will be selected.
  • We will let you know by  21 January 2022 if your application has been successful. Please do not contact us about this.
  • If your application is successful, we will need the following documents. Please keep them ready:
    1. Copy of your ID
    2. Matric certificate
    3. Proof of residence
    4. An affidavit from the Police stating you are unemployed.

Students will be able to study at an especially-designated classrooms provided by the project:

Mandini: Umfolozi College Mandini Campus, Anderson Road, Mandini.

KwaDukuza: Enterprise iLembe Business Incubator, 142 King Shaka Street, KwaDukuza

You will have to commit at least 16 hours per week to your studies.

No, the project is currently not in a position to pay monthly stipends or travel expenses to students.
